Tips and tricks of input director

In my previous blog posts I’ve mentioned that I’m a big fan of Input Director. Today I’d like to share some tips and tricks for getting the best out of Input Director.

  1. Use Hotkeys

Hotkeys allow you to quickly switch between screens. For instance, when you press Ctrl+Tab, you’ll go back to the last active window. Pressing Tab again will bring you forward to the first active window.

You can also assign hotkeys to specific windows. For instance, pressing Alt+Ctrl+F12 will open the Settings dialog box for the current window.

  1. Set Up Multiple Monitors

Using multiple monitors allows you to display different applications on each monitor. For instance, you may have a browser window on one monitor and a spreadsheet on another.

  1. Configure Keyboard Shortcuts

Configuring shortcuts makes switching between screens easier. For instance, you can configure Ctrl+Alt+Left Arrow to move the mouse pointer to the left edge of the screen.

  1. Customize Screen Sizes

You can customize the size of each screen individually. For instance, you could make the primary monitor larger than the secondary monitor.

  1. Add Extra Screens

Adding extra screens lets you run multiple instances of Input Director simultaneously. For instance, you might have a web browser running on one screen and a word processor on another.

  1. Create Desktops

Desktops let you organize your apps into groups. For instance, you’d have a desktop for your email, another for your social media sites, and so forth.

  1. Organize Apps

Organizing your apps into folders makes finding them much faster. For instance, you wouldn’t have to search through every folder just to find your favorite photo editor.
